Industry veterans and professionals from the maritime industry were conferred with EIU and AIMRI Honorary Industrial Doctoral degrees on January 24, 2024 at Constellation Ballroom, Address Marine, Dubai. The event was organized by the Aries International Maritime Research Institute(AIMRI) in collaboration with the European International University(EIU). H.E Fareed Lutfi, Secretary General - Emirates Insurance Association, Secretary General - Gulf Insurance Federation graced the event as Honorable Chief Guest.
The prestigious AIMRI Honorary Industrial Doctorate was presented to Mr. Emanuele Grimaldi, President & MD of the Grimaldi Group and Chairman of the International Chamber of Shipping. Mr. Grimaldi was recognized for his pioneering leadership and vision steering the global shipping industry over decades. He has held top leadership roles within the Grimaldi Group, a fully integrated logistics group specializing in maritime transport.
Other shipping executives awarded honorary dual doctorates included Capt. Mohammed Ali, SVP of ADNOC Logistics & Services; Mr. Ahmed Al Muhairi, VP Shipping of ADNOC Logistics & Services; Dr. Jayakumar, CEO of Vizhinjam International Seaport Limited and Mr. Estephan Assal, Ambassador - IMO Goodwill Maritime, Dubai.
The honorary doctorates awarded to these shipping veterans and professionals highlighted their exemplary careers and lasting impact on global maritime trade and transportation.
Their leadership and vision place them at the forefront of an evolving industry, navigating new tides of technology and innovation. The conferring ceremony underscored Dubai'S position as a global maritime hub and its emphasis on recognizing leaders shaping the future of the industry.
